Zombie's Got a Pogo, an endless bouncer game for Windows Phone
Zombie's Got a Pogo is an odd sort of an endless runner game available in the Windows Phone Store. As you would guess with the title of this Windows Phone game, you try to keep your Zombie in one piece as you guide him over various obstacles.
Simple controls, challenging game play and quality graphics helps give Zombie's Got a Pogo a nice level of appeal. The game is available for low-memory devices and while not the most feature rich Windows Phone game that features Zombies, it is a fun title to pass the time with.
The main menu for Zombie's Got a Pogo is straightforward with one button to jump into game play. When you first launch game play, Zombie's Got a Pogo will run you through a few tutorial screens that covers gaming mechanics.
Controlling the Zombie as he bounces on the pogo stick is done by tapping the left or right side of the screen. Tap/hold the screen to have the Zombie lean more into the bounce, which will make him jump further. However, lean too far and your Zombie will crash into the ground.
Once you get you Zombie bouncing across the screen, a wide assortment of obstacles and dangers will appear. Many of the objects can be hopped on to or over. You also have a nice collection of dangers such as melon shooting cannons, spiked swinging balls and tennis ball launchers to avoid.
The physics of the game is nicely realistic. If the pogo stick bounces on the corner of a crate and your Zombie could lose his balance and crash. You can also enhance your bounce by springing off the top of objects.
The game screen will display your distance in the top center, your gem count and pause button in the upper right corner and three hearts in the upper left.

Should your Zombie fall apart, you can use the hearts to extend game play. You have three hearts and if you run out, you can use gems to extend game play. Gems can be earned during game play or picked up through in-app purchases.
To help keep things interesting, Zombie's Got a Pogo has missions or goals (bounce a certain distance, etc.) and when you complete these goals, you will earn a prize (mainly bonus gems).
Overall Impression
Zombie's Got a Pogo is one of the more casual endless runner games. There's not timer or sense of urgency, other than what is self-imposed. While the pace is casual, the game isn't lacking challenge by testing your timing, patience and reactions.
The graphics are well drawn up and the number of creative dangers give the game character.
I really cannot think of a single downside to the game. Zombie's Got a Pogo could use a few power-ups to give the pogo stick rockets or make the Zombie invincible. However, as is, the game works.
If you are in the market for a simple and somewhat addictive Windows Phone game, Zombie's Got a Pogo is worth trying. At last check, the game is pulling down a 4.5 Star rating in the Windows Phone Store, which we see as spot on.
