What you need to know

  • Microsoft Teams for iOS can now spotlight up to seven people within meetings.
  • The Spotlight feature lets you pin specific people's video feeds within a meeting.
  • The update also adds the ability to listen to messages while using Immersive Reader.

Microsoft Teams on iOS and iPadOS just received a new update that makes it easier to highlight specific people within a meeting. The app now supports Spotlight for up to seven people in a meeting on phones or tablets running iOS or iPadOS.

Spotlight allows you to pin specific people's video feeds within a meeting. This makes it easier to keep the focus of the meeting on a group of people. Using the Spotlight feature pins the video feeds for everyone in the meeting, not just your own personal view.

Here's the complete changelog from Microsoft:

  • Spotlight up to 7 people in a meeting from your phone or tablet
  • Hear messages read aloud using Immersive Reader

The update also brings the ability to listen to messages when using Immersive Reader. This improves accessibility and makes it so you don't have to leave Immersive Reader to use another accessibility feature.

You can grab the latest update for Teams through the App Store. The Android version of Microsoft Teams also received an update recently, but the changelog is from a previous update.
