This generation, Microsoft hasn't released as many special edition Xbox One consoles as Sony. However, the company has put in a lot of effort with multiple controllers. There are a lot of gorgeous peripherals out there — from the Titanfall controller to the mesmerizing Dusk Shadow — but the newly-announced "Sport Red" definitely makes a statement.
Not only is it very bright, but it's also features an intricate pattern on the front and back. Microsoft said the following when describing the device.
Inspired by the world of activewear and sports lifestyle the... Sport Red Special Edition is the second controller in the Sport Series. This red controller exudes energy — it features metallic red and silver accents on the front of the controller as well as a metallic red D-pad. The red diamond rubberized grips on the back of the controller will increase your comfort during long gaming sessions and help you stay on target.
The Sport Red controller will be available for $69.99 on March 5, 2019. Luckily, it's going to launch worldwide so gamers outside of the United States don't have to worry about availability. You should be able to find it at your local retailer like Games Planet in the Middle East. There are listings for Chinese New Year-themed controllers floating around too.
For those of you who like matching accessories, Controller Gear is also releasing a Sport Red Xbox Pro Charging Stand. Each Xbox Pro Charging Stand includes a battery cover, rechargeable battery, and a six-foot power cord so you won't have to buy cells again and again. The charging stand will be available on May 1 for $49.99.
