The largest WWE game yet
Last year's WWE 2K17 ditched the series' popular story mode in favor or adding more wrestlers than ever before. This year's edition follows suit by adding even more Superstars to the roster. As you can see, it's an impressive list. The majority of the new characters are women and people of color, which is a step forward for diversity as well.
WWE 2K18 also features:
- Improved realism: Eight-man matches, a new grapple carry system, new weight detection, thousands of new animations, a massive backstage area, and a brand-new rendering engine.
- MyCAREER enhancements: Free-roaming movement, conversing with WWE Superstars, forming alliances, making enemies, seeking out quests, and strategizing for upcoming matches.
- New Road to Glory mode: Compete with opponents online to improve your MyPlayer by earning unlockables, boosts and upgrades all while securing your entry into Special Events that are held alongside real-life WWE special events, such as pay-per-views.
- Dynamic Creation Suite: Deeper customization tools, new Custom Match option, and even more detailed features for Create-a-Superstar, Create-a-Video and Create-an-Arena.
WWE 2K18 is scheduled to come to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and (getting its first simultaneous release) PC on Tuesday, October 17. A Nintendo Switch version will follow by the end of the year. The standard edition will cost $59.99. The Deluxe Edition, which includes the Season Pass and bonus characters, will cost $89.99.
Remember, preordering will get you a double helping of Kurt Angle, who hasn't been in a WWE game since 2007!
