World of Tanks will bring its endless battles to the Xbox One
World of Tanks, the free-to-play WWII-themed online battle game from developer Wargaming.net, will expand its reach to the Xbox One console sometime in 2015. The game was first released for the PC in 2010 and Wargaming launched an Xbox 360 version in 2013 that has since been downloaded over 5 million times.
The game's official website states that Xbox One players will be able to battle online with their Xbox 360 counterparts with cross-platform support. Also, players who want to upgrade from the Xbox 360 to Xbox One version will be able to carry over all of the progress they have made in the previous console game to the new one. However, players can also choose to keep playing both versions if they desire, with the site stating, "You'll be able to continue to play on Xbox 360 and Xbox One and maintain your progress across them with the same account."
More details about the Xbox One version will be revealed in the near future.
