World of Final Fantasy Maxima launches on Xbox One
The Final Fantasy onslaught begins.
A few weeks ago, Square Enix announced that it's bringing a wide range of Final Fantasy games to Xbox One. Today, Square Enix launched World of Final Fantasy Maxima on Xbox One and other platforms. Players can once again discover the magical world of Grymoire.
World of Final Fantasy Maxima features a number of characters from Final Fantasy lore, and a multitude of collectable monsters. While the story isn't as heavy as Final Fantasy XV, it's still a joy to experience. Unlike Final Fantasy XV, the game didn't garner stellar scores from reviewers and currently sits at a 77 on Metacritic.
Surprisingly, the game comes in at 11.72 GB and features Xbox One X enhancements. World of Final Fantasy Maxima supposedly runs at native 4K resolution on Microsoft's new console, but that hasn't been confirmed by an in-depth analysis yet.
World of Final Fantasy Maxima costs $39.99 and is only available as a digital download. Final Fantasy is one of the most popular franchises in the world, and that includes various spin-offs and other experiences. This game appears to be geared towards those unfamiliar with the main installments as it features simplified combat and a less serious story. The main Final Fantasy games are considered hardcore experiences which require dozens of hours to complete, so this may be a strategy to find another crowd.
