Windows Store passes 3 billion visits since Windows 10's launch
Microsoft has revealed that the Windows Store has recorded more than three billion visits since the launch of Windows 10 on July 29, 2015. The number was quoted in Microsoft's latest Windows Store trends report:
Further, Microsoft says that it saw quite a bit of growth in paid transactions over the prior holiday season, noting that Windows 10 customers are generating four and a half times more revenue per device than Windows 8 users.
Rounding things out, Microsoft lists the most popular categories by downloads on the Windows Store. Games are the clear winner, accounting for a little over 30% of total downloads, followed by the Utilities & Tools category at 15%. Filling out the top five are the Photos & Video, Music, and Social categories.
