Windows Phone Game Review: Free Billy
XIMAD has a new Windows Phone game. Free Billy joins the likes of Pandas vs. Ninjas, De-Bugs Pool and Bubble Birds as an entertaining game that will help you pass short bits of time.
Billy is an angler fish that has gotten into trouble while exploring a sunken ship. You have to guide Billy through an assortment of mazes to reach a magic spiral that will eventually lead him to safety. Along the way, you'll need to collect treasure and avoid falling stones.
Free Billy is laid out in simple fashion with Main Menu options that include playing the game, access the game's options (sound/music on/off) and to access the About screen.
Free Billy is a multi-level game with twenty five levels that progressively get more challenging. The first few levels are extremely easy to get you acclimated to the game and controls.
You have to trace a path for Billy to follow that will lead him to the magic spiral and collect as many treasure chests as possible. The more treasure and the faster you reach the spiral, the better your score.
You can eliminate rock barriers by moving Billy close enough so they are illuminated by his glow bulb and tap on them. Just be careful not to have any falling rocks land on Billy or you'll fail the level. Some of the levels requires a little logic/planning in how you remove the barriers or you'll get trapped. The higher levels can get tricky and one wrong move and you'll be trapped or even worse, find Billy floating belly up.
Free Billy isn't a bad game for your Windows Phone but it needs more levels. It doesn't take long to navigate your way through the twenty-five levels. While you do have the option to replay each level to see if you can improve your score that can only last so long. The good news is that more levels are in the works so hopefully those who get hooked on the game won't have long to wait.

The only real downside to Free Billy is that every now and then you'll see a full page ad for other XIMAD games pop-up. They are spaced out to avoid becoming too irritating but still... I'd rather see a less dominant banner ad appear from time to time.
While there's room for improvement, Free Billy is a nice game for your Windows Phone. Free Billy is a free game and you you can find it here at the Windows Phone Store.
