Windows 10 SDK preview build 17661 now available for developers
The first SDK preview of the Redstone 5 era is here.
Microsoft may have developers fully focused on Build 2018 this week, but it has managed to slip a new SDK preview build out as well. Following up on last week's release of the first Redstone 5 build for Fast ring Insiders, Microsoft today quietly shipped its accompany SDK with preview build 17661 (via Neowin).
This is the first Redstone 5 SDK, but it's currently unclear what is new. Microsoft typically releases a blog post covering the new aspects of each SDK release, but one isn't available just yet. Presumably, we'll learn more about new APIs and features as Build 2018 wears on.
Updated May 8, 2018: Microsoft has now posted the release notes for SDK preview build 17661.
For now, if you're a developer, you can download SDK preview build 17661 from Microsoft now to start toying around.
