Will 'Project Scorpio' Xbox cost $499 when announced at E3?
The price is just one of the unknown variables about Project Scorpio we're expecting to hear about at E3 2017 in just a matter of hours, but one industry professional is now confident that he knows what it's going to be.
I can now say with confidence Project Scorpio is $499. Unless something changes today, that is what will be announced.I can now say with confidence Project Scorpio is $499. Unless something changes today, that is what will be announced.— Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) June 11, 2017June 11, 2017
Keighley is the creator of The Game Awards and is responsible currently for the YouTube E3 live coverage, and is far from a random hack. It's also pretty much in line with some of our own Jez Corden's predictions.
From my E3 earlier predictions, Xbox One S got the aggressive price cut which I think makes $499 Scorp more likely. pic.twitter.com/Q2FC6REmKdFrom my E3 earlier predictions, Xbox One S got the aggressive price cut which I think makes $499 Scorp more likely. pic.twitter.com/Q2FC6REmKd— Jez @ E3 (@JezCorden) June 10, 2017June 10, 2017
Are they right? Only time will tell, but all signs currently point to yes. We'll soon know either way, and make sure to follow our complete live coverage from Los Angeles later today. In the meantime, sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on a $499 price tag for Scorpio. Too much? About right for all the awesomesauce within? Let us know what you think!
