Will Forza Horizon 5 support VR?
Playground Games' latest racing title is Forza Horizon 5, taking players on an open-world adventure through Mexico in the latest iteration of the Horizon festival. However, Forza Horizon 5 does not support VR. Playground Games has opted to create an experience that is basically the same across Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. Playground Games also noted that this isn't just at launch. The studio is not planning to support VR in any way, something that we wouldn't expect to see change.
Now, it's crucial to note that this doesn't mean Xbox first-party studios can't make VR modes on the PC versions of games. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 supports VR, meaning that if you've got capable hardware, you experience the PC version of the game in a completely different way. With that said, the fact that Xbox as a console platform doesn't support VR means that a situation like with Microsoft Flight Simulator is the exception, not the rule.
Will Xbox ever support VR?
It's not impossible that one day Xbox first-party will start supporting VR on a large scale but right now, it doesn't seem to be a focus for the company. Sony, on the other hand, is continuing to commit to VR support, with PSVR 2 currently in development for the PS5. There aren't many details right now but Sony appears to be trying to recreate the PS5 DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for VR.
Forza Horizon 5 launches Nov. 9, 2021 for the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition and on Xbox Game Pass. Anyone that buys the Premium Edition gets early access on Nov. 5, 2021.
For most players
If you're the average Forza fan or racing game player, you're probably going to want to stick with the standard edition of Forza Horizon 5. There's no big add-ons included but it doesn't cost as much as other versions.
Seriously hardcore
If you're super-invested in Forza Horizon and want to make sure you get every expansion, then grab Forza Horizon 5 Premium Edition, with a Car Pass, VIP membership and access to two expansions.
Middle ground option
For the players who don't want to pay for the expansions right now but want extra cars, there's always Forza Horizon 5 Deluxe Edition, which adds in the Car Pass for a total of 42 new cars.
