Upgrade to the WD Black SN850 2TB SSD with heatsink on sale for $285
For today only you can get the WD Black SN850 2TB solid state drive with heatsink on sale for $284.99 at Best Buy. This is one of Best Buy's deals of the day, which means it is only a temporary drop. However, it is one of the best prices we've ever seen for the 2TB drive, especially considering the added heatsink usually makes this drive a heck of a lot more expensive than other versions.
The SN850 lineup has a whole saw a huge price drop around March of this year. Before that this drive in particular was selling for around $350 or more. Since then it has sold for around $300 in most places including Amazon. Today's drop is obviously an even better price than that but won't last long.
The SN850 drive greatly improves on previous generations with read and write speeds that will make loading some apps seem instant. Plus, the capacity is large enough for your favorite games and files.
The SN850 is an upgrade over the previous generation SN750. You'll see some huge improvements, too, in read and write times and durability among other things. The added heatsink helps minimize throttling due to overheating, and it helps push the SSD's performance while gaming.
The SN850 has read/write speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s and 5,300 MB/s respectively. That's insanely fast when compared to even a regular SATA SSD that can top out around 560 MB/s. You'll instantly notice the change if you're upgrading from a non-M.2 NVMe drive. Your operating system will load faster, your games will install faster, and everything will feel better. With a 2TB drive you might even be able to squeeze Call of Duty in there somewhere.
You can use this drive with Windows 10 and 11, and it also works with the PlayStation 5. There are plenty of great SSDs out there, and you have options if price is a consideration or you prefer a different brand. Be sure to find the one that works for you.
