War of Beach, create an island empire with today's Windows 10 HERO App
War of Beach is a strategy game for Windows 10 PC where you are cast in the role of an island ruler and have to build up your tiny empire. You get to develop an economy, design the layout of your island community and defend it from pesky neighbors. The Windows 10 game is also one of the AdDuplex HERO Apps this month.
The HERO App program is a promotional campaign for Windows Phone and Windows developers on the AdDuplex Network. The program has changed slightly from last year and partners AdDuplex with AppDeals, TechRewards{.nofollow} and Windows Central to deliver a host of benefits to the top apps and games each month. Our role in the HERO App campaign is to offer a little exposure to these titles by sharing them with you, our readers.
War of Beach is a city builder with a combat element, much like you would find with Cloud Raiders, but with an island setting. You have your island kingdom that you will have to build up with residential, commercial and industrial structures along with developing a defensive network to protect the kingdom from invasion. You also will have opportunities to expand your kingdom by freeing neighboring islands from an evil empire.
The Windows 10 PC game does require a data connection to play and the option to create a user account based off your email address. A gaming account is not required, but will open up social aspects of the game.
As with most city builder games, War of Beach will walk you through an extensive tutorial to get you familiar with building structures, managing your economy and build up your defenses. You will also recruit troops and send them to neighboring islands to free them from occupation by the evil empire.
The Windows 10 game has all the elements you will find in a city builder such as time management to build and gather resources, empire expansion to other islands and building your army to thwart invasion and take the fight to the enemy.
Graphics are colorful and full of detail and War of Beach has its fair share of challenges. If you are a fan of the city building genre of games, War of Beach is worth checking out. War of Beach is a free, ad-supported game that is currently only available for Windows 10 PC.
