Treo 700wx Now Available on Verizon

As expected, Palm released the Treo 700wx on Verizon's network today, at long last righting the wrong that was the Treo 700w. A brief look at the press release indicates that it's identical in every way to Sprint's 700wx (namely, it's Windows Mobile 5, EVDO but not Rev A, and has some of Palm's enhancements but lacks threaded text messaging). Pricing is inline with what we've come to expect too.

The Palm Treo 700wx smartphone from Verizon Wireless is available now at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, Verizon Wireless business channels and online at www.verizonwireless.com for $399.99 after a $100 rebate and a new two-year customer agreement.

The program-memory-anemic Treo 700w is gone from both Palm's and Verizon's websites, it's finally been put down like the critical injured beast it was.

Update: Yes, I've seen that some folks are speculating that Palm might be up for sale to either Nokia or Motorola. I don't give much credence to the rumor.
