Trapster was a popular Windows Mobile application that relied on a social network to identify speed traps. The reports would then populate a map for mobile and desktop access. While we don't endorse speeding, we did find Trapster to be a handy app to alert you of speed traps and avoid unwanted tickets.
The developer has been working on a Windows Phone version of Trapster for some time and is now looking for Beta Testers. To add to the incentive of becoming a Trapster Beta Tester, anyone sending in feedback on the app will become eligible to win a $500 gift card.

All beta testers who submit their test results and user feedback will be entered into the drawing to win $500. All test results must be submitted by February 11, 2012. We will announce the winner of the drawing on February 13, 2012
TRAPSTER SURVEY DRAWING RULES:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN.
PROMOTION PERIOD. The giveaway period will begin on February 3, 2012 and will end no later than 11:59 PM, Pacific Daylight Time, on February 10, 2012 (the “Drawing Period”).
ELIGIBILITY. The Trapster Survey Drawing (the “Drawing”) is open only to registered users of the Trapster application on Windows Phone, iPhone, Android, WebOS, iPad, Nokia, J2ME, TomTom, Garmin, and Blackberry who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Employees of Reach Unlimited, NAVTEQ and its affiliates and subsidiaries, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. Employees and representatives of Microsoft, Tom Tom, Tele Atlas, and Google are also ineligible to enter or participate in the Giveaway. This promotion is void where prohibited by law. Additional restrictions may apply.
HOW TO WIN. Signup to beta test the Trapster Windows Phone 7 application and submit user feedback and testing results using the feedback form provided by Trapster. One winner will be chosen from amongst all qualifying entries.
PRIZE. The beta tester chosen by drawing (“Winner”) will receive a five hundred dollar ($500) gift card.
DRAWING. The drawing will be conducted at Sponsor’s offices on or about February 13, 2012. Sponsor will randomly select one (1) Winner. Sponsor may substitute Prize. Winner may not substitute Prize.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNER. Winner will be notified via email. Upon notification, the potential winner must confirm identity and eligibility, by signing and returning an affidavit of eligibility within forty-eight (48) hours of initial contact. If a potential winner(s) is unreachable, or if there is no response from a potential winner(s), an alternate winner may be chosen at Sponsor’s sole discretion from among remaining eligible entries.
PUBLICITY. Winner agrees to grant to Sponsor, its licensees, affiliates and assigns (and to confirm in writing if requested to do so), the right to print, publish, broadcast, adapt, modify, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the Internet, at any time or times, the Winner’s name, photo, voice, likeness, and biographical information as news or information and for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes without additional consideration or compensation whatsoever, and without Winner’s review, notification, or approval. Winner understands and agrees that he or she may be asked to execute an affidavit of eligibility, a publicity release, and a liability waiver prior to receipt of the Prize.
ODDS OF WINNING. Odds of winning will be determined based on the total number of eligible entries.
LIMITATION ON LIABILITY. By accepting the Prize the Winner agrees that Sponsor will not be held responsible for any damage, loss of property, accidents, injuries, or death that may occur in the receipt, awarding, use or possession of the Prize. Winner acknowledges that neither Sponsor nor its directors, employees, or agents, have made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the Prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose.
MISCELLANEOUS. Any and all taxes on the Prize are responsibility of the Winner. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants and Sponsor in connection with the Giveaway, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard for conflict of law principles, and all proceedings shall take place in that State. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify any part of the Giveaway if any fraud, virus, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper execution of the Giveaway, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
