More Total War: Warhammer 3 teaser videos indicate the impossible is beginning
The stars are rapidly pointing towards an influx of Chaos.
What you need to know
- Total War: Warhammer and Total War: Warhammer 2 released in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
- A recent series of Total War videos indicate that a reveal for Total War: Warhammer 3 is coming.
- One of the latest videos makes things clear: the Chaos Gods are coming.
Update, February 3 (10:35 ET): Total War: Warhammer 3 has been revealed.
A reveal event of some kind for the long-awaited Total War: Warhammer 3 seems inbound. While the first teaser indicated that one of the Winds of Magic was acting erratic, two more videos have dropped and they indicate something truly sinister is coming. While the second video is somewhat innocent, the third brings woeful tidings and exciting promise of just what Total War: Warhammer 3 entails. Now, you can check the fourth out below.
A bit of explaining might be at hand. The first constellation, Grungnis Baldric, is representative of Khorne, the Blood God of war and combat. The Piper is a bit more elusive, indicating trickery and deceit, which would fit with Tzeentch, God of change and evolution. The Drummer indicates hedonism, perfect for Slaanesh, God of indulgence and lust. Finally, Rhyas Cauldron heralds death and creation. A bit of a stretch but it could be linked to Nurgle, God of pestilence and plague.
It's pretty safe to say my initial theory of a different video for each of the Winds of Magic has been dashed to pieces and instead, the constellations spell a clear picture: the Chaos Gods are coming. Still, there is hope for the forces of man, as Ursun clearly indicates the sign of a Bear, or the nation of Kislev.
Players who own both Total War: Warhammer and Total War: Warhammer 2 can combine the games into one huge campaign called Mortal Empires. Being able to add on the third and final entry in a truly massive campaign could make this one of the best strategy games available. Whenever Total War: Warhammer 3 is fully revealed, we'll be sure to cover it.
Update, February 3 (10:35 am ET) — They rise
Total War: Warhammer 3 has been revealed, with a total of six different factions for players to command. It's coming in late 2021.
