The Callisto Protocol is an upcoming horror game from Krafton and Striking Distance Studios, the latter of which is led by Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield. While the team at Striking Distance Studios has grown to over 150 developers, it's getting some extra help in making The Callisto Protocol the best horror game it can possibly be.

Today, we learned that Skybound Games is partnering with Striking Distance Studios to work on The Callisto Protocol.

"Striking Distance Studios has one goal with The Callisto Protocol – to make one of the most terrifying games of all time," said Schofield, CEO of Striking Distance Studios. "Skybound Entertainment is unrivaled in the worlds of sci-fi and horror storytelling, and will be an incredible partner for KRAFTON and Striking Distance Studios as we bring the world of The Callisto Protocol to life in games and beyond."

Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead and Chairman of Skybound Entertainment, noted that Skybound has helped adapt The Walking Dead comics into video games, TV shows and more, with the team seeing "similar possibilities" for The Callisto Protocol.

First revealed during the Game Awards 2020, the developers have also shared a Red Band trailer for The Callisto Protocol, giving a closer look at the terror that lurks within Black Iron prison on the icy moon of Callisto. The Callisto Protocol is currently scheduled to release sometime in 2022 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and PS5.
