Creative Assembly, known for its work on the Total War franchise and a quick distraction into Alien: Isolation, may be teasing its next major game. Total War: Warhammer released in 2016, while Total War: Warhammer 2 arrived in 2017. Both of these games received numerous DLC packs adding new units, lords and factions. Now, there's a new video on the Total War YouTube channel that indicates nefarious things on the horizon.
You can check out the teaser below:
In the quick teaser, we see a mage noting that the Wind of Azyr, from which the Lore of the Heavens is derived, is blowing strongly. If we get one of these teasers each week, each one could focus on one of the different Eight Winds of Magic. It would also mean we've got about seven more weeks before the official reveal of the game.
The third game in the Total War: Warhammer series is strongly rumored and hinted at to focus on the rise of the Chaos Gods, with the grand campaign of the first two games combined explicitly referred to as Mortal Empires. Popular predictions for factions in this game include the Chaos Gods, Chaos Dwarfs, Ogre Kingdoms and the nation of Kislev. Depending on how it goes, this could end up being one of the best strategy games available.
The most recent DLC pack for Total War: Warhammer 2, The Twisted and the Twilight, added more Legendary Lords and units for the Wood Elves and Skaven factions.
Update, February 3 (10:45 am ET) — Chaos rising
Total War: Warhammer 3 has been officially announced. There are six factions for players to enjoy and it's coming in late 2021.
