Screenshots of what is reportedly the long-awaited Windows 10 version of Facebook Messenger have been posted on the Internet.

Facebook is currently testing a Snapchat-style ephemeral messaging feature in Messenger. The trail is being conducted in France, and may eventually roll out to all 700 million Messenger users.

Facebook Messenger has snagged a new update, and while there's no changelog, it's likely that this one addresses widespread login issues that started cropping up late on Wednesday.

Both Skype and Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone have snagged minor updates. Unfortunately, both have also left out a changelog, leaving what's new a mystery.

Facebook has changed the criteria for signing up for its Messenger service, and now users just need a phone number. The previous requirement of a Facebook account has been removed.
