Surface Pro 4 Type Cover and new Surface Pen now available for pre-order
Even if you opt to hold onto your Surface Pro 3, rather than upgrading to the new Surface Pro 4, you can thankfully take advantage of some new accessories that are now available for pre-order. Those include the new Surface Pro 4 Type Cover and the refreshed Surface Pen.
The Surface Pro Type Cover is up for pre-order on on the Microsoft Store, with a ship date estimate of October 26. The cover goes for $130 for the base version, and $150 for the option with Fingerprint ID on board. If you're looking for a splash of color, the base model comes in black, blue, bright blue, or red, while the Fingerprint ID model is only available in black. Both versions feature mechanical keys and an enlarged trackpad, and are compatible with both the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4.

Next up is the new Surface Pen, which features reduced latency 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity. The new Surface Pen also comes with a pen tip kit that lets you swap out the tip of your Surface Pen with one four different tips to change up the feel and smoothness of your writing. You can also click the Surface Pen button to quickly pull up OneNote, or click and hold to summon Cortana. The new Surface Pen is available at the Microsoft Store now for $60 in silver, black, or dark blue — though the silver option is the only one currently up for pre-order. The expected ship date is October 26.
