Surface Laptop and Laptop 2 pick up new firmware updates
Both updates focus on improving reliability for the ambient light sensor.
Microsoft pushed out a new set of firmware updates for both the Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop 2 this week. Included in each update is the same patch, which improves the reliability of the ambient light sensor (via MSPU.
Here's a look at the official release notes for both the Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop 2:
- Surface Intersil Ambient Light Sensor (HID) – System devices: 4.1.139.0 improves device stability.
If you're using either generation of the Surface Laptop, you should be able to grab this update now via Windows Update. These are the first firmware updates to hit both models since January.
Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop 2 are currently available starting at $699 and $945, respectively.
