Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is delayed to Dec. 8, 2022, GSC Game World confirmed via Twitter on Wednesday. Stalker 2 was previously slated to arrive on April 28, 2022, meaning it's been delayed by around seven months.
"These additional seven months of development are needed to fulfill our vision and achieve the desired state of the game," the update explains. The developers added that the game is undergoing "thorough testing and polishing" and that more of the game will be shown later in the year, so players can expect additional updates before launch.
The developers previously planned to implement NFTs, or Non-Fungible Tokens, around the game, something that was quickly pulled after player backlash.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is a timed Xbox console exclusive, coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC at launch. It's also launching day one into Xbox Game Pass on both console and PC.
Good hunting, stalker...
