Sonic Mania brings Sega's mascot back to 2D platforming in spring 2017 for Xbox One and PC
Sega has announced Sonic Mania, a new game in the long-running platformer series that brings the company's mascot back to his 2D roots. The game is due in the spring of 2017 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The game was announced via a trailer that shows some gameplay. Sega says Sonic Mania will allow players to control not just Sonic but his sidekicks Tails and Knuckles. The game will feature a mix of remastered levels from classic Sonic the Hedgehog games with all new levels as well. The game has a number of developers and teams, including Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games.
