Solas returns in the trailer for the next Dragon Age at The Game Awards
Now we can all freak out together over Solas.
What you need to know
- The next Dragon Age received a new trailer at The Game Awards 2020.
- As was hinted at earlier with its m marketing surrounding the Dread Wolf, Solas has indeed returned.
- It seems to be called just Dragon Age, and was not given a release date.
BioWare released a new Dragon Age trailer during The Game Awards 2020 and as everyone has already guessed, Solas has returned. Everyone can start screaming over the egghead again, as I'm sure you have been for years now.
The studio did not announce a release date for the game, so I wouldn't expect to see it any time soon. Consoles were also not announced, but it's safe to assume Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It may skip a last-gen release entirely, though BioWare has yet to confirm this. We're not even sure if the name is final as the trailer only indicated that it would be called Dragon Age, without any numbers or subtitles. The title of the trailer on YouTube is just labelled "the next Dragon Age."
Just last week, Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah both left BioWare after decades with the company. Darrah in particular served as executive producer on all three Dragon Age games, so his departure was big news to longtime series fans. Christian Dailey will be taking over Darrah's role on the upcoming Dragon Age title.
"This has been a very difficult decision for me," Darrah said. "The team of amazing developers on Dragon Age, make my life fuller and better. They have taught me so much. But the strength of the team is also what makes this possible. I know that Dragon Age won't just survive without me, it will thrive."
Darrah has not stated what he intends to do next in his career.
