Skype's refreshed icon now rolling out for iOS beta testers
Microsoft's new iconography is finally making its way to Skype.
If you're a Skype beta tester on iOS, you'll notice the app has received an icon refresh with its latest update. The move is part of a larger overhaul of Microsoft's Office icons, which the company debuted last year.
While the rest of the Office suite has received a pretty drastic refresh in terms of icon design, Skype's is much more modest. While the old icon featured white iconography against a blue background, the new icon inverts that relationship. The now-blue portion of the icon is slimmed down a bit compared to the old version, while the signature Skype "S" is now a bit slimmer as well.
As far as we can tell, the new icon is only available for Skype beta testers on iOS at this point. However, its rollout here should mean the overhaul isn't too far behind on other platforms.
