Sea of Thieves crosses 20 million players as the game reaches its third anniversary

Rare's Sea of Thieves continues to grow since its launch in 2018, with the team announcing today that Sea of Thieves has crossed 20 million players as it has grown into one of the best Xbox games available. You can take a look at a celebratory video with other fun stats below:
In celebration of this major milestone, there's some new content in the form of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perk to grab, the Ocean Crawler bundle. Sea of Thieves last crossed 15 million players in July 2020, meaning five million more pirates have joined in last eight months.
Sea of Thieves gets new content on a regular basis, with dogs added in 2020, as well as current-generation support, allowing players to experience the game at 120 FPS on Xbox Series X. More recently, Rare added a battle pass of sorts called the Plunder Pass, allowing players to grab even more unique loot, though nothing that changes the balance of the game.
