Save $400 on the curvy and beautiful Samsung Odyssey G9 49-inch gaming monitor
Samsung has kicked off a new winter sale with last-minute gift ideas. One of the stars of this show is the Samsung Odyssey G9 49-inch gaming monitor on sale for just $999.99 at Samsung's online store. That's a $400 discount off the monitor's regular price and nearly $700 off what it was going for at the beginning of the year. The first time we saw it drop anywhere near this price was Black Friday, which was only a couple weeks ago at this point. If you've missed out on this deal up until now, don't sleep on it while there's still a chance.
You won't be able to get this monitor by Christmas, with the closest delivery day being Dec. 28, but if you are getting it as a gift I'm sure they'll forgive you for the delay.
This is actually the 2020 model of the Odyssey G9. The newest edition, the Odyssey Neo G9, was just introduced earlier this year, but it also sells for ridiculous prices. It's over $2,200 at Amazon as we speak. Better to save yourself a mortgage payment and still get a great screen with today's deal.
The Odyssey G9 uses Samsung's QLED technology for the best possible colors and a pixel-perfect picture quality. Every bit of that 49 inch screen will look great. That's especially true because of the adaptive sync tech that includes AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility. Whatever graphics card you use, use it lower screen tearing and match every frame.
You'll also get a 240Hz refresh rate on this monitor. That's well above average and even above the 144Hz standard gamers tend to shoot for. The refresh rate will help reduce motion blur and make every game look that much better.
With the curved screen's 32:9 aspect ratio you can do a whole lot on one monitor. Open up multiple different windows and switch between them seamlessly.
