It looks like Samsung will ditch the detachable form factor for the next entry in its Galaxy Book line. New renders, outed by leaker Evan Blass (via The Verge), show off what is expected to be called the Galaxy Book S, a traditional thin-and-light laptop.
The renders don't give us a whole lot of information about the laptop, but we can see a headphone jack and a USB-C port on one side. There are no confirmed specs just yet, either. However, a recent benchmark hinted that the laptop could arrive powered by a Snapdragon 855 chip and 8GB of RAM.
If the laptop is sporting a Snapdragon 855 processor, it's likely we could see LTE connectivity as an option as well. The Galaxy Book 2 detachabl arrived last year with a Snapdragon 850 chips and LTE on board.
There's no word on when the laptop may arrive, but it'll be interesting to see how an ARM-powered thin-and-light can stack up to similar Intel-based laptops like the Surface Laptop 2.
It's like a Surface Pro with an ARM processor. And that's a wonderful thing.
