The Ring Video Doorbell app for Windows 10 PC and Mobile has been updated, and it includes support for the recently launched Ring Video Doorbell Pro, a new and slimmer version of the connected doorbell.
The $249.99 Ring Video Doorbell Pro does require an existing hardwired doorbell to work. It offers owners a camera that can take 1080p video, along with night vision, advanced motion detection and more to help people feel more secure inside their home.
Also, the Windows 10 app update includes support for Live View, which lets users watch live video from their Ring doorbell from their smartphone and speak to whoever is at their door. This feature only works with Ring devices that have hardwired installations at the moment.
Finally, the app has "numerous bug fixes, performance and stability improvements including optimizations for Windows 10 mobile devices" with this new version.
We reviewed the original Ring doorbell a few months ago and came away impressed.
