Review: SPE Leather Sidecase for Tilt 2/Touch Pro 2

The choice of a case for your Windows Phone may be just as tough as choosing the phone itself. Smartphone Experts offers a wide range of cases from top loading to holsters to side cases.

One of SPE's more recent cases is the SPE Leather Side Case. The case is offered for the HTC Touch Pro 2 and Tilt 2 Windows Phone series. Follow the break to read more about this new case from Smartphone Experts.

First Impressions

Out of the box, the SPE Leather Side Case feels of quality leather. The case is lined with a soft leather that has a good bit of padding. Not too much to make it feel bulky but enough to offer a decent amount of protection. Stitching looks solid with no loose seams present.

The case has a large flap that secures with velcro. Personally, I would have rather seen the flap secured with magnets but with magnets can present problems with the Touch Pro 2/Tilt 2 phones.

The case secures nicely on your belt by a leather wrapped clip. The clip is wide enough to reduce wiggle and holds the case in place nicely. A bottom cut-out sits in the center of the SPE Case to help with the removal of the phone. The sides are also exposed at the top and bottom.

Performance

The Tilt 2 fit nicely into the SPE Case, not too snug, not too tight. While I have my reservations on the use of velcro, the velcro strip is long enough to help the flap holds things nicely in place.

The SPE Case rides comfortably on the belt but it does have a little boxy feel to it. While the SPE Side Pouch has rounded corners, the SPE Leather Side case is square cut. Fortunately, the case is cut close enough to the Tilt 2 and Touch Pro 2 the boxiness isn't too uncomfortable.

Overall Thoughts

It's hard to really find a downside to this case unless it's simply based on personal preferences. I prefer the style of the SPE Side Pouch but objectively would easily recommend this case.

If you're looking for a quality constructed, comfortable, leather case for your Touch Pro 2 or Tilt 2, the SPE Leather Side Case ($17.95) is worth considering.
