Respawn is gearing up for Titanfall 3
Titanfall 3 development is ramping up.
A few months ago, EA announced that Titanfall 3 was in development. However, not much information was provided about the game or just how far along the title was in the pipeline. Luckily, a report by GearNuke provided some answers. There are numerous job listings regarding a Titanfall project on the developer's website. Given the sheer number of openings and the description, it seems that development is just ramping up.
For example, a "Senior Animator," "Senior Network Engineer," and "Senior Game Designer" are required. This doesn't point to a game that is even close to being finished. Given the fact that we know Respawn Entertainment is working on Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order for 2019, Titanfall 3 might be at least two years away.
Many gamers were worried that EA might release Respawn's Star Wars project around the same time as Titanfall 3 — like what the company did with Star Wars Battlefront II and Titanfall 2. This impacted sales of the latter because it was going up against a juggernaut. Delaying the title so that more content could be added would've been the right move.
Titanfall 2 didn't garner the same review scores that the original received even though it featured a stellar campaign. This was mostly due to the fact that there just wasn't a lot to do in multiplayer. There was nothing new that existing players, especially those on Xbox One, hadn't done before. Here's hoping Titanfall 3 fixes that, whenever it launches.
