What you need to know
- Resident Evil Village is the next mainline Resident Evil game.
- A description on Humble Bundle has leaked the name of a new multiplayer title — Resident Evil Re:Verse.
- Resident Evil Re:Verse will be bundled in with Resident Evil Village.
Previously, we reported on how Capcom was taking signups for a mysterious new Resident Evil multiplayer game. Now, we've got a better idea of just what this game is. In a leaked listing on Humble Bundle shared by @Wario64 on Twitter, Resident Evil Village is described as including Resident Evil Re:Verse, a separate game in a similar vein to how Resident Evil Resistance was bundled in with the Resident Evil 3 remake.
According to the description on Humble Bundle, preordering Resident Evil Village guarantees access to Resident Evil Re:Verse, as well as a pack of bonus items including a Mr. Raccoon Weapon Charm, Survival Resources Pack and the Resident Evil Village Mini Soundtrack.
We should learn more about this new pack-in game later today, as Capcom is holding a Resident Evil showcase at 2:00 p.m. PT to share a trailer, gameplay footage and more for Resident Evil Village. Resident Evil Village is current-generation exclusive to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and PS5 however, Capcom has stated it is looking into the possibility of a last-generation version for Xbox One and PS4.
Ethan can never catch a break
Resident Evil Village follows Resident Evil 7 and the story of Ethan Winters, who has to enter a mysterious castle in search of his kidnapped daughter. It also comes with Resident Evil Re:Verse, a multiplayer add-on that pits 4-6 players in deathmatch-style combat.
