In a press release, Capcom shared the news that the Resident Evil franchise has sold over 100 million copies. Resident Evil is the first Capcom series to pass the 100 million milestone. Monster Hunter: World remains the best-selling game overall however, with nearly 16 million copies sold.
The most recent game in the series is the Resident Evil 3 remake, which updated Jill Valentine's escape from Raccoon City for modern hardware. It's sold over 2 million copies since release.
Next up is Resident Evil: Village, a strange new entry that places players in the shoes of Ethan, the protagonist of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Resident Evil: Village is coming to Xbox Series X, PS5 and PC sometime in 2021.
