Gothic horror Resident Evil Village is coming to next-generation consoles in 2021

While Capcom teased viewers by initially presenting its trailer during today's PS5 reveal event as Village, the cinematic is actually for the next iteration in the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil 8 will hit the next-gen console in 2021 and appears to eschew zombies in favor of a more Gothic horror feel with a creepy village setting, a reference dark fairy tales, an eerie castle and a fearsome werewolf.
The beginning of the trailer announces "His story comes to a close," indicating that it will conclude the story of Ethan Winters who served as the protagonist of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The trailer also announces the return of Chris Redfield, one of the recurring characters from the franchise.
Resident Evil 8 is a next-generation release and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021.
