Red Dead Redemption 2's install size hits 107 GB for Xbox One
Red Dead Redemption 2 is almost upon us, and more importantly, almost upon our rapidly shrinking storage space.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26, 2018, and is available now for pre-order starting at $59.99. The open-world Wild West shooter is destined to be a hit, if Rockstar Games' track record is any indication, and today, we've learned how much of a battering it's going to deliver to our console storage.
On Rockstar's support page, the developer listed the require install sizes across Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and they're pretty beefy.
Disc Installation:
PS4 - 99 GB installation space Xbox One - 107 GB installation space
Digital Installation:
PS4 - 99 GB installation space with an additional 50GB for the installation process Xbox One - 107 GB installation space
For those who pre-ordered digitally, you will be able to begin pre-loading the game this Friday, October 19, at 12AM ET.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is almost certain to be a huge hit, given the reputation Rockstar has built up for itself on the back of Grand Theft Auto and the previous Red Dead Redemption title. Given the game's install size, you can almost guarantee a huge open world with next-level detail, but we'll have to wait until the October 26 launch date to find out more. If you've already made up your mind, you can pre-order the game now on Amazon or via Microsoft.
Affordable, reliable storage.
Want a portable drive big enough for Red Dead Redemption 2 (and around a dozen other games?) Look no further than this affordable option from WD.
