Red Dead, Final Fantasy, and Just Cause titles join Xbox Game Pass in May
May is going to be one crowded (and fun) month.
What you need to know
- Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that offers access to a huge library of games on Xbox, PC, and mobile devices.
- Xbox has just revealed which games are going to be added to the service (and removed from it) in the first half of May.
- The big titles coming to the service are Red Dead Online, Final Fantasy X/X-2, and FIFA 21, while Psychonauts is a dark horse addition.
Who is surprised to see it's May already? Microsoft just revealed which games would be coming to the Xbox Game Pass roster in May 2021, and there are several heavy hitters being added this month. One of the biggest is Red Dead Online, though Final Fantasy X and X-2 are classics. The addition of Psychonauts is likely to introduce the game to new players before its long-in-development-hell sequel, Psychonauts 2, releases on Xbox sometime later this year.
Xbox is building on its recent Game Pass successes, including the additions of Outriders and MLB The Show 21 at launch. The additions for the latter half of April weren't quite as exciting, except for the reintroduction of Grand Theft Auto V. The list of offerings for Xbox Cloud Gaming continues to expand, while gamers on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC are all getting access to this slate of games. In case that wasn't enough, Microsoft also revealed that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers would now have access to 4 months of Spotify Premium for free.
