Razer launches the BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 gaming keyboard
Razer is stepping things up a notch with its latest iteration of its BlackWidow keyboard.
Razer has announced the new BlackWidow Tournament Edition (TE) Chroma V2, a special version of the standard BlackWidow Chroma V2 that packs some extra enhancements for gamers to check out. Like other Tournament Edition keyboard, this one comes in a more compact form factor thanks to the lack of a number pad on its right side.
The BlackWidow TE Chroma V2 is also built for better reaction speeds, Razer says. That's due to what the company calls "Instant Trigger Technology," or ITT. In simple terms, ITT does away with any delay between key actuation, which should make key presses feel more responsive. While that might not matter much for the majority of general use cases, PC gamers aiming to play at a top level will see some benefit in-game.
Otherwise, the BlackWidow TE Chroma V2 is very similar to it bigger brother. The keyboard is available with a choice between Razer's own Green, Orange, or Yellow switches. The keys also light up with 16.8 million possible colors, all of which can be customized through the Razer Synapse software. Lastly, a magnetic, detachable wrist rest is also thrown in for good measure.
The Razer BlackWidow TE Chroma V2 is available now for $139.99 directly from Razer, and it will become available elsewhere worldwide throughout August. And if full-size keyboards are more your style, be sure to check out our review of the BlackWidow Chroma V2.
