Rage 2 'Rise of the Ghosts' expansion launches on Xbox One and PC
Get ready to play with even crazier weapons!
What you need to know
- Rage 2 is a post-apocalyptic shooter from Bethesda.
- The game's first expansion just launched on Xbox One and PC.
- It adds a new region and much more to Rage 2, including diabolical weapons.
- You can purchase the game for $50 on Amazon.
If you love Rage 2, you'll be excited to know that the first expansion, called Rise of the Ghosts, is available on Xbox One and PC. The press release we received said that players can expect "a brand-new story in a new region that's littered with the cannibalistic, Feltrite-infused Ghosts, a new Feltrite Laser Launcher to disintegrate those Ghosts, a new Void ability to use the force upon the Ghosts, and more."
Since I don't own the game on PC, I was only able to test out the update on Xbox One X. Before you can play the game, you'll have to download a roughly 24 GB update. This will increase the file size to over 55 GB on the console. If you own the Deluxe Edition, you just have to continue the game to get the Rise of the Ghost expansion content. Curiously enough, you can only start the mission if you visit a hub and then leave it.
Players who don't own the Deluxe Edition can purchase Rise of the Ghosts from the in-game store for 1,500 Rage Coins. You can also upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for 2,000 Rage Coins. Since we last checked, the in-game store was having some issues so you may have to wait a while to buy it.
The continuation of a popular shooter
Following a catastrophic asteroid impact, Earth is in ruin and numerous individuals are put into underground hibernation. Unfortunately, events don't go according to plan and the surface is overrun by mutants and an oppressive organization.
