PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) on Xbox One gets more graphical options soon, 60 FPS planned
There may be hope for the game after all.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a battle royale game focused on scavenging weapons and using stealth or other tactics to be the last person alive. The title has see unprecedented popularity on Steam and other platforms like the Xbox One over the past several months.
PUBG targets 30 FPS on Xbox One, and even struggles to maintain that on Xbox One X. It's evident that the game isn't properly optimized for consoles, but that might be about to change in the future. Yesterday on Reddit, Community Manager "PUBG_Lumos" said, "The ultimate goal is to achieve a stable 60 FPS, and we'll continue to optimize to achieve that goal. At the moment we are not intending to 'unlock' the framerate, we'll need to implement these graphical options first and iterate upon them to see if that would be possible in the future."
Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later. The employees also mentioned that more graphical options are coming to the game. There will be three options for "Visual Quality" and three options for "Resolution." For example, you'll be able to employ dynamic resolution to improve the frame rate.
A few months ago, the developer announced a campaign called "Fix PUBG" which aims to make the game better for all players. While a lot of the issues have been addressed, many still remain or haven't been fixed properly. Aside from better performance, what features would you like to see in PUBG? Let us know.
