Outlook.com dark mode coming 'very soon,' Microsoft says
Your Outlook.com inbox will soon be a little more pleasant to look at in the dark.
Dark themes are everywhere nowadays, and Microsoft has been slowly adding them to its own lineup of apps and services. And it looks like the next on the list to get the treatment is none other than Outlook.com.
In a post on its Outlook feedback forum (via The Verge), Microsoft confirmed that it is indeed hard at work on a dark mode for Outlook.com, and it should be coming "very soon." However, the company says that it's taking its time to get things right. From Microsoft:
As you can imagine, dark mode is one of the most requested features, not only for Outlook.com but across Microsoft's apps and services generally. Darker themes have been gradually rolling out across the company's apps, with To-Do being the most recent to switch off the light. With the promise that Outlook.com is to get a dark mode "very soon," it looks like you may soon be able to check your inbox on the web without burning your eyes in the dark.
