Origin PC goes for gaming greatness with powerful EVO17-S, EON15-S laptops
Origin's new EVO17-S and EVO15-S crank up the power while keeping things relatively thin.
Origin PC took the wraps off of two new gaming laptops today, and they're both packed to the brim with specs that will keep you gaming on the go. Called the EVO17-S and EON15-S, both laptops keep with Origin's typical reputation of offering plenty of customization options while offering plenty of power and relatively thin chassis.
EVO17-S
As the larger of the two, the EVO17-S comes with decidedly more powerful hardware options and plenty of flair. The 17.3-inch display is available with either a 4K display or a 144Hz 1080p panel, both of which offer NVIDIA G-Sync support to keep frames smooth. Performance is powered by up to an NVIDIA GTX 1070 GPU with 8GB of memory, along with, impressively, up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i9 processor.
Rounding things out is up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and 8TB of storage via two m.2 PCIe SSD slots and a single 2.5-inch SSD or HHD. Being a gaming PC, the keyboard features plenty of RGB lighting goodness, per-key lighting customizations. And if you want to add a bit more customization to the mix, the laptop's lid can be kitted out with custom lazer etching and paint jobs. All of this is in a design that measures 0.98 inches thick and weighs in at 6.6 pounds.
The EVO17-S is available now starting at $1,999.
EON15-S
While the EVO17-S seeks to push specs to the limit with a large screen size, the EON15-S takes things down a notch. For one, the weight is significantly reduced to just 3.41 pounds and thickness remains similar at 0.94 inches thick. The included 15.6-inch 1080p display also features thin bezels and a matte finish.
In terms of hardware, the EON15-S includes an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 chip, along with up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 4TB of SSD storage. For your graphical needs, Origin includes options for either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 TI or GeForce GTX 1060 GPU.
Like the EVO17-S, the EON15-S includes plenty of customization options, including laser etching and custom paint jobs on the lid. The keyboard is also kitted out with RGB lighting and support for individual key lighting as needed.
