What you need to know

  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps is an action platformer coming to Xbox One and PC in March 2020.
  • The game will be part of Xbox Game Pass at launch.
  • The title runs at 4K resolution on Xbox One X.
  • You can preorder Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Amazon.

A few months ago, many gamers woke up to a pleasant surprise. Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest, was available for digital preorder on the Microsoft Store. The game costs just $30 and is launching on March 11 this year. It looks like the title will make that release date because it just went gold. Going gold means that the game is finished, and the remaining time will be spent on patches and other minor fixes.

If you're an Xbox Game Pass owner, you'll be excited to know that the title is available for pre-load already. While the download is just a 100 MB placeholder, it should automatically update to the full game sometime in March or sooner. It's included in your subscription so you won't have to pay the $30. The title also supports Xbox Play Anywhere so you can transfer saves to Windows 10 and vice versa, and runs at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on Xbox One X.
