Oddworld: Soulstorm is exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC at launch
Epic claims another games for its store, taking away from a potential Steam release, at least upon launch.
What you need to know
- Oddworld: Soulstorm will now be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC at launch.
- It is unclear if it is a permanent or timed exclusive.
- The developer has stated that it will still come to consoles in 2020.
It's always a fun day when Epic is in the news after a developer turned down a deal with the company stating that Epic wanted an "all or nothing" deal when it came to exclusives. Despite Epic's terrible reputation among many people, that still hasn't stopped some developers from striking deals with them. As is the case with the upcoming Oddworld game.
Lorne Lanning, co-founder of Oddworld Inhabitants, the developer behind the series, released a message on Twitter that explained that Oddworld: Soulstorm would be launching on PC through the Epic Games Store. This decision appears to have come down to financial means, as Epic promised the studio an advance on its PC sales.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is due out sometime next year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It is unclear if it will come to additional PC storefronts at a later date, much like other Epic Games Store exclusives that have timed exclusivity periods.
