O2 bringing Huawei Ascend W1 aboard in late March
British carrier O2 announced back in January that they planned to carry the Huawei Ascend W1 later this year. O2's "coming soon" has revealed that the W1 will be arriving sooner rather than later, in late March. O2 will offer the W1 in Electric Blue and Electric Pink at an unspecified price. There's no exact release date yet, but at least we have a good idea of when to expect it.
The Ascend W1 first showed up at CES, where we got a hands-on look at it. As an entry-level handset, the W1 will not turn a lot of heads, but it feels good in hand will still offer up a pleasant Windows Phone 8 experience without breaking the bank.
The Ascend W1 has a dual-core 1.2Ghz processor, 1950mAh battery, 4" (800x480) display, 512MB of RAM, 5 MP camera, and 4GB storage (expandable to 32GB with a micro SD card). We'll update when more information becomes available from the mobile operator.
