Next-gen Forza Motorsport is planning to let Forza fans playtest a part of the game
Players may actually be able to experience the next Forza Motorsport soon.
What you need to know
- Turn 10 and Xbox Game Studios is currently working on the next entry in the fantastic Forza Motorsport series.
- Turn 10 recently held their Forza Monthly livestream, where they finally unveiled new details about Forza Motorsport.
- The game is already in early testing internally through Xbox Game Studios, and Forza fans may soon get a chance to play part of the game.
- If you're a member of the Forza panel (anyone can sign up) you may be able to play a bit of Forza Motorsport early.
The next-gen entry in the long-running Forza Motorsport series is simply dubbed, well, Forza Motorsport, and intends to drop the "8" moniker from the end. This soft reboot of one of the best racing franchises around was initially teased at the Xbox July Games Showcase, and since then not a whole lot more has been shared about it. That looks like it's about to change, however, as the most recent Forza Monthly revealed that not only is Xbox Game Studios testing Forza Motorsport internally, Forza players that have joined the Forza panel may soon also get a chance to play a part of Forza Motorsport.

If you want a chance to play the next-gen Forza Motorsport a (lot) earlier than most people, you need to make sure you're signed up for the Forza panel program. This is a free feedback program that has participants fill out surveys and answer questions to help guide the development of Forza. Pretty soon, it seems that these same participants will also be able to play Forza Motorsport, or at least a small section of it.
Not a ton is known about the next Forza Motorsport, except that intends to be a true visual showcase when it launches on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. We know the game will support up to 4K resolution at 60fps and have full ray tracing support. As with all other first-party Microsoft games, it will also head to Xbox Game Pass on day one, letting tens of millions of subscribers experience Forza Motorsport.
Forza Motorsport is still a long way away (there's no set release date yet), but the Forza series has never failed to impress. If Forza Motorsport continues to excel like its predecessors, there's no doubt it'll top our list of best racing games for Xbox.
