New Windows Store updated to fix early woes, now can manually check for updates
A few days ago Microsoft launched the revamp of the Windows Store app for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile in preparation for the Anniversary Update due this summer. The preview is only available to those on the Fast Ring for the Insider program.
The relaunch of the Store brings a fresh, cleaner new UI with new menu layouts and easier readability.
Today's update brings the Store from version 11604.1000.21.0 to 11604.1000.27.
The biggest fixes we have noticed so far include:
- Check for updates button now successfully works for manual checks (Auto update always worked)
- PC installation failures are fixed, and the new Store can be installed on Windows 10 PCs
There are also likely other smaller fixes and improvements, and we're sure to see much more before the Anniversary Update launches later in July.
