This mod for Halo: Reach PC adds a collection of classic Custom Games maps
Sad that you don't have all of your Custom Games maps on Halo: Reach on PC? Well now you can, thanks to this mod.
Halo: Reach on PC is here, and many players are hoping to enjoy classic Custom Games multiplayer with their friends. However, if you were a Halo: Reach player on the Xbox 360 but forgot to designate to have your collection of Custom Games maps and gametypes ported to PC before 343 Industries' deadline passed, you'll be left with none of the stuff you need to do so. While you could wait for players to remake these maps and gametypes in the new Forge on PC (which you can access right now, by the way!), there's a much easier way to get those maps and gametypes on PC: downloading the "Halo Reach Forge Collection" mod that adds them!
From the beginning, you know the end
Though not perfect, Halo: Reach's PC port is well done, and its open to the modding community, too, which is how awesome projects like the one in this article are possible.
What does the mod do specifically?
The Halo Reach Forge Collection adds a huge amount of maps and gametypes to your Halo: Reach game directory so that you can play them in your Custom Games matches with your friends. Specifically, you get 303 maps and 256 gametypes, which together will allow you to play nearly every single popular Custom Games mode ever made for the original Halo: Reach. Some of these include Fat Kid (a version of Infection where one zombie is extremely tough, but slow), Duck Hunt (a recreation of the classic game), Indiana Jones (run away from the rolling ball of death), and many, many more.
Where can you get the mod, and who made it?
You can download the mod here on the Nexus Mods website, which is where the vast majority of mods for games are uploaded. The mod is compatible with both the Steam and Windows 10 Store versions of the game, and the description tab of the mod page has clear and easy-to-follow installation instructions.
The mod was made by Halo community member LeTexan, who compiled all of the maps and gametypes into one package. Make sure to leave a comment thanking them for sharing their files to all!
