Minecraft: Java Edition 1.18.1 Release Candidate 2 arrives with fix for chunks not loading

1.18 Caves and Cliffs Update Part Two rolled out to Minecraft players everywhere over the last few weeks, and now Mojang Studios has shifted its focus to polish and quality-of-life improvements while they work on what's coming next to Minecraft. To this end, Mojang Studios has released Minecraft: Java Edition 1.18.1 Release Candidate 2 to test a fix for world chunks occasionally not loading.

This snapshot follows its predecessor with exactly one additional fix for the Caves and Cliffs Update, and as such is a pretty mundane snapshot. As long as Mojang or the Minecraft community discover no more critical issues in this snapshot, this will likely become the 1.18.1 patch update Minecraft: Java Edition players should see in the coming weeks.

Minecraft is one of the greatest games ever made, and holds on to its title as one of the best PC games by continually evolving with new features and content. The Wild Update, releasing sometime during 2022, will update Minecraft's Overworld with new mobs, blocks, and more.
