Xbox mode got overshadowed by this awesome new addition to Windows 11 in the latest Patch Tuesday update

Windows 11's latest Patch Tuesday update is a big one that includes new features, significant improvements, and support for haptic feedback on supported accessories.

Going into the month, I would have assumed that Xbox Mode was the headline change. But when I wrote about the Logitech MX Master 4 getting updated to work with haptics, it gained a ton of attention.

The Logitech MX Master 4 is one of the first mice to have built-in haptics, but they were limited before this month's Windows 11 update. Now, you can feel Windows 11 through a "haptic bump." Those bumps help you navigate Windows 11 and get subtle feedback when performing certain actions.

Using haptics requires both the latest Windows 11 update and an update to Logi Bolt+.

Microsoft doesn't list all the changes on a single page, presumably because including all changes and security updates would be a monstrous document. Here are the highlighted features and changes that entered preview on April 30, 2026 and that are now available through the May Patch Tuesday update:

While the new haptics feature turned heads, it's restricted to specific hardware. If you're a gamer, you're likely more interested in Xbox mode.

In addition to all the new feature changes and improvements, there are security updates that address issues. A separate document lists every single security update.
