What you need to know

  • Microsoft Build 2021 dates "leaked" a few weeks ago.
  • The leaks were almost accurate.
  • The official dates for Microsoft Build are May 25 to May 27.

It's almost that time of year again: Microsoft's annual developer conference is primed for an exciting three-day stretch in May. As it turns out, the official dates—May 25 to May 27—aren't far off from the dates leaked a few weeks back.

The leaked dates were May 25-57. Now, May 57 doesn't exist on the calendar, but if we look at it in retrospect, it seems like it might just have been a typo or deliberately incorrect placeholder. Swap the five for a two, and you have the dates that ended up being official.

In case you need a refresher on what the Microsoft Build conference is, here's Microsoft's description:

Microsoft Build is where developers, architects, start-ups, and students learn, connect, and code together, sharing knowledge and expanding their skillset, while exploring new ways of innovating for tomorrow.

For more details regarding Microsoft Build and the sorts of content the conference features, you can check out Microsoft's official page. Expect interesting speakers, panels about topics such as remote learning and working, and in-depth explorations of all sorts of cutting-edge technology.
